Coal Trail - Lovečkovice - Náčkovice

Few would have thought that here, in a landscape that looks like rolling mountain pasture, people could have ever mined coal. Follow the eight-stop trail to learn about the local history.

The coal trail was built in 2018 with the support of the Ústí nad Labem Region. The trail is almost 4.5 kilometres long, with 8 stops with info boards that remind us of how life used to be in the surrounding villages, how it was with coal mining, introduces us to the flora and fauna living and growing in the meadows and in the Luční Brook, which we will pass.

Route

Length

The trail is 4.5 km long. If you choose the same start and finish and arrive by car, you will have less than 9 km to go. To get back to Lovečkovice, you can take a bus from the Mukařov bus stop and shorten the route. The route can be done most of the year, except in winter, with a stroller (preferably with an outdoor stroller).

Start and finish

  • The beginning of the route is located at the newly built mini-museum Lovečkovice, which was opened on 1 June 2018 on the 40th anniversary of the closure of the line Velké Březno - Lovečkovice.
  • The destination of the trail is at the Vít'ov lookout point, which offers a view of the wide surroundings. The lookout tower is open from April to the end of October and usually only from Friday to Sunday.
