Cultural centre of Rehlovice

Czech-German art park under the treetops.

Welcome to the Czech-German art park under the treetops. The park on the grounds of the Cultural Centre Řehlovice is open. You can admire the artworks of Czech and German artists in the shadow of the historical walls of the old brewery in Řehlovice.

History of the place

The cultural centre of Řehlovice is located on the site of the former Řehlovice ash yard, which is mentioned as early as the 14th century. In the 16th century, a brewery was founded here. In 1528, the German knight Dietrich von Bila acquired the farm. His descendant Friedrich von Bila took part in the Estates Uprising in 1618 and was executed in Prague in 1621. In 1628, Friedrich's widow Beatrice von Bila sold the estate to the noble Nostitz family, who owned it until 1916.

In 1916 the estate was bought by the Jewish family Koralek. In the early 1930s the family sold the estate to the Wozack family and emigrated. After 1945, the Wozacks were expropriated and the estate was nationalized on the basis of Benes Decrees. In 1996, the Holík family bought the estate.

Present

The Cultural Centre Řehlovice, founded in 1999, is dedicated to all-round exchange between Czechs and Germans under the leadership of Lenka Holíková. For more than twenty years, the former popluzny yard has served as a meeting place for Czechs and Germans (as well as visitors from other countries) and has brought a rich cultural offer to the countryside. In 2021, the Cultural Centre extended its activities beyond the farm to the town of Litoměřice, where it operates the Gothic Twin Gallery.

In addition, the Cultural Center has created an art park, a space for stakeholders, visitors and community residents to display works created on the property. The park is always accessible.
