Erben lookout

Above the town of Ústí nad Labem there is a lookout tower called “Erbenova vyhlídka” on “Brandtova výšina”.

Erbenova vyhlídka is a 420-meter-high peak of the ridge of Brandt's height, located north of Ústí nad Labem, on which stands a 15-meter-high stone lookout tower. It is named after the chairman of the tourist club, Alexander Erben, on whose initiative it was built in 1933.

You can travel from the center of Ústí nad Labem through the Bertino valley. On the route of about 3 km, following the yellow tourist rout from the city center to the Erbenova vyhlídka lookout tower, you will walk through the quiet Berta valley along an educational trail. The Bertino valley lies along the Stříbrnický stream from the center of the town of Ústí nad Labem from the district of Důlce to Stříbrníky. The place is named after Berta Schaffner, the wife of the factory owner Schaffner - the then director of the Association for Chemical and Metallurgical Production.

You will see artificial waterfalls, gazebos and benches, which were built here in the 19th century. You will walk along a short educational “nature trail”, which acquaints visitors with the fauna, flora and geological past of this locality.
