The cycling season is fast approaching. For some of us it has already started. And as it is becoming a custom, at every beginning of the season the Destination Agency České středohoří organizes the event Spring Unlocking of the Elbe Trail.
Cyclists will have the opportunity to take advantage of free basic service and diagnostics of bicycles. There will be a bouncy castle and a model cycle trail for children to learn how to behave on the trail and what the rules are. Of course, there will be a music and cultural programme.
As the event is being held for several times, it will be organized on a larger scale this year. Thanks to the cooperation of the Destination Agency České středohoří with the towns of Ústí nad Labem and Děčín, the event will take place on the same day in three places to launch the tourist season on the Elbe Trail. The events in Litoměřice, Ústí nad Labem and Děčín will be connected by a cycle ride. Cyclists can choose an organised cycle ride, which starts in Litoměřice at 10 a.m., or set off individually at their own pace. All participants who take photos at all three locations will receive valuable prizes.
And how to get to the beginning of the cycle ride to Litoměřice or, conversely, from Děčín to home?
Cyclists have the opportunity to use a special cyclobus line that will take them to the start of the cycle ride and also after the ride back to Litoměřice or Ústí nad Labem. The cyclobus will run for free, but you must book your seat in time at reservation.ceskestredohori.info. Anything extra? Take a boat trip to the event!
Tourist cruise lines start their weekend cruises in 2019 on 30 March. This will make it possible to attend the above-mentioned events on the Elbe Trail by boat! The boat line marked 901 runs on the route Ústí nad Labem - Litoměřice. You can go to Litoměřice from the regional town or from Dolní Zálezel or Velke Žernosky. The second boat line is named 902 and sails along the Elbe River. It is possible to use it to sail to the event in Děčín. In the afternoon the boats sail back to Ústí nad Labem.
