The Ghetto Museum - Terezín

The first permanent exhibition on the history of the Terezín ghetto. After more than 40 years, the efforts to commemorate the memory of the victims of the ghetto and to interpret its history have come to a beautiful end.

The Ghetto Museum in Terezín is the first permanent exhibition about the history of the Terezín ghetto. After more than 40 years, it finally managed to commemorate the victims of the ghetto and also to map its history. Apart from the documentary exhibition, there is also the Memory Hall of the Children of the Ghetto, dedicated to the youngest victims. There is a selection of the ghetto children drawings, the scale model of the ghetto and a cinema with documentary films.

The Ghetto Museum is part of the Terezín Memorial. It was opened in 1991 in the former school, built in the 19th century. This unique exhibition was prepared in cooperation with the former prisoners of the ghetto. The exhibition is called “Terezín in the so called Final Solution of the Jewish Question, 1941-1945”.
