The second long weekend in May promises pleasant temperatures, so we have some tips for you where to go from the centre of the regional city of Ústí nad Labem!
Start your journey from the city centre, ideally from the Ústí nad Labem Cycle Centre, where you can refuel your bike or pick up tourist information before your journey.
Cyclists can go up and down the Elbe River in both directions - to Děčín or Litoměřice. It is always about 25 km to each city. Thanks to the dispensing windows, you can already refresh yourself on the way, for example, at the kiosk at the ferry in Žernosky and take the functional ferry to the other side and continue to Lovosice. In the other direction there is a window in Tivoli in Velké Březno or in Děčín in the Kocanda restaurant.
Lake Milada is also a popular destination . It is about 8km from the cycling centre.
Hikers also have several opportunities for pleasant walks with views!
1. Vaňovský Waterfall and Vrkoč - walk first along the yellow trail to the Větruše Chateau (the cable car runs from 11 May) and then continue along the red and marked Nature Trail to the Vaňovský Waterfall, a path with many views of the Elbe and Střekov Castle. The top premium is the Vrkoč peak itself with its amazing view.
2. Vysoký Ostrý - from the Cycle Centre, walk across the bridge and then along the Elbe Trail to the Střekov railway station. From there, follow the red trail to Střekov Castle. You will continue to climb through the forest to Nová Ves, from where you will begin to see beautiful views. Follow the nature trail Under Vysoký Ostrý through the Sluneční stráň lookout to the top and the Vysoký Ostrý lookout platform. The more fit can continue along the trail to Průčelská gorge and Brná. You can return comfortably by public bus.
3. Dubický kostelík and the Mlynářův kámen lookout - you can also go by train! Go to Dolní Zálezel and from there take the blue trail to Moravany Waterfalls and then the green trail to the beautiful Mlynářův kámen lookout. From there it is about 1 - 3 km to the next viewpoint - to the Dubice church to Doeller's viewpoint. Run back down the green and take the train back to Ústí nad Labem.
