During the summer months, you have a great opportunity to taste wine from the Lobkowicz Castle Winery (in Roudnice nad Labem) in the Wine Pavilion, which can be found in the castle garden located at the entrance by the bridge (entrance through the gate from Charles Square).

You can both taste and buy the delicious wine here. You can take a seat at benches and tables which will be waiting just for you or relax on the grassy area of the garden nearby.
Wine growing has a long tradition in Roudnice, its foundations have already been laid here by Bishop John IV. from Dražice in the first half of the 14th century, extended by Charles IV. In 1603 the Lobkowicz family began to shape the history of the local winery (vinařství Lobkowiczove). The wine, which grows on the slopes of the nearby hill Sovice and its surroundings, is aged in local cellars. The cellars themselves are literally opposite the pavilion so you can take a peak.
