Cycle trip on the route Ústí nad Labem - Decin - by boat there and by bike back
Set off from Ústí nad Labem by boat to Děčín and return along the Elbe Trail by bike. The trip is ideal for families with children. The Ústí - Děčín trail is almost the entire length of a car-free cycle path.
The boat line of the Transport of the Ústí nad Labem Region with the designation 92 departs from the station Ústí nad Labem-centrum at 9:30 and reaches Děčín in less than two hours. If you want to stay in Děčín, be sure to visit the viewpoint on the Shepherd's Wall and you can also visit the nearby Děčín Zoo or the local castle. ️ On the way back you will have a relaxing 25 km along the Elbe Trail. If you want to stop at an interesting place on the way, make sure to choose Velké Březno. Here you can visit a castle with a beautiful garden or arrange a tour with beer tasting at the Březňák brewery.

Via Ferrata - Děčín
Via Ferrata on Pastýřská wall is located in the middle of Děčín above the Labe river and directly opposite of chateau. Ferrata offers 16 routes of many difficulties.
It was put into operation in April 2014. Since then, a total of 16 different trails with different levels of difficulty have been created. It is freely accessible and free of charge, you only have to pay for the rental of the necessary equipment (ferrata set). For safety reasons, it is forbidden to climb if it rains or the wall is wet. It is suitable for physically fit individuals with no climbing experience and can also be done by athletically gifted children. You can arrange an experienced guide who will explain everything you need.
You can rent equipment for the ferrata in the ACTIVE POINT DĚČÍN cycling rental. You can park in the parking lot at the nearby roundabout, in the parking lot under the Tyrš Bridge, or on the other side of the Elbe by the library. All routes start on the Elbe Embankment at the original lift to the Shepherd's Wall.
Via Ferrata Děčín is really for everyone. Beginners will learn the basic skills of moving along the via secured path in a very interesting environment. The Shepherd's Wall offers a choice of 16 routes with lengths of 150 - 170 m on one rock and absolutely everyone will be amazed by the breathtaking views of the opposite castle and the deep Elbe canyon. Via Ferrata Děčín is also suitable for children. According to our experience, we recommend a body height of at least 130 cm. The weight limit is determined by the technical parameters of the ferrata sets, which are designed from 40 kg. In case of a fall, there is a risk that the braking system will not work for lighter persons and it is therefore necessary to secure them with a rope. Our experienced guides will take care of securing children and persons under 40 kg.
What is Via Ferrata?
The name Via Ferrata comes from the Italian language and translates as "the secure way". It is a secured route through difficult mountain terrain, equipped with belay ropes, handrails and footrails and other aids so that even an inexperienced climber can climb it. These routes can vary in difficulty and are marked in our country according to the Austrian model (A - the easiest, after E - the most difficult). There are dozens of these routes all over Europe. Austria and Italy boast the largest number thanks to the magnificent Alps.
The Shepherd's Wall in Děčín is the longest ferrata in the Czech Republic and also offers the most ways to climb the wall. It is also the only ferrata located in the city centre, which is not quite common even in Europe.
