Buková mountain

Buková mountain (683 m a. s. l.) is the basal dominant of the Verneřické highlands.

There is a beech forest and rare flora on the slopes. At the top, there is the impressive Buková mountain transmitter, which with its height of 223 m is the tallest concrete structure in the Czech Republic.

A few tens of meters from the transmitter, is Humboldt's lookout with beautiful views of the Elbe canyon and the peaks of the Central Bohemian Uplands. Not far from the mountains viewpoint, on the southeast slope of the mountain, there is a natural attraction "Ice Pits" - about 8 m deep cracks in basalt, where firn and ice is maintained even throughout summer. A marked hiking and horse trail leads through Buková mountain.

It is possible to take a hiking trip to Buková mountain. It is possible to leave Zubrnice, Malý Březno or Těchlovice. Marked hiking trails lead to the top of Bukovka from all of the mentioned places.
