TIP for the weekend: the plum track for hiking in the Bohemian Central Highlands

Do you want to climb a mountain peak and ride the Plum Track? We have several options for you!

First, an invitation to the castle!

The Libochovice Chateau will open its season in an unusual way on Monday, 25 May, with the first event:Week full of sawdust. In the meantime, you can visit the castle park from 9 am to 5 pm this weekend. From Libochovice, there is a pleasant 4.5 km long walk along the red Golden Trail through the land of castles to Kostelec nad Ohří, to the amazing manor house Dvůr Perlová voda with its own brewery and delicious cuisine! On the other side from Libochovice, another destination awaits you - Hazmburk Castle.

Go to the Bohemian Central Highlands by train

We have several tourist tips using the most modern local railway in the Czech Republic on the route - Litoměřice - Lovosice - Most - Plum tracks.

1. Route - train stop: Třebenice with a continuation along the red line to the ruins of Košt'álov Castle from where you can enjoy a wonderful view. From Košt'álov you can take the same route back or from there you can continue on through Sutom, the ruins of Skalka Castle with the most significant remnant - the round tower and Skalka Castle. From Vlastislav, continue to the small village of Teplá and from there along an unmarked minor road to the railway station in Trebenice. If you have time, treat yourself to a sweet treat at the local Chocolateria.

2. Route - train stop: Třebívlice. If the first trip is short for you, you can continue to Třebívlice or start here!

We continue: from Vlastislav along the Golden Trail of the Land of Castles through the village of Děkovka to another ruin, the castle of Oltářík, where you can enjoy another magnificent view of the landscape. From there, follow the blue trail marked Hussite Trail through the Land of Castles, which will take you through orchid meadows to Dřemčice and then to Třebívlice. In Třebívlice, you can also buy wine from the local winery Johann W and hop back on the Plum Track and head towards Lovosice or Most. You can also start your trip in Třebívlice.

3. Route - train stop: Bělušice. From here you can hike to the western peaks of the Bohemian Central Highlands - the Milá peak, which is also a nature reserve, or the more distant Písečný vrch. You can go up to the Raná hill, which is popular with paragliders.

If you want to see the Stone Sun National Natural Monument, get off in Židovice. Less than 3 km after the village of Hnojnice you will find it.It is an argillaceous limestone supplemented by volcanic breccias, which creates interesting formations in the form of stone suns. The site is a unique evidence of volcanic activity in the Tertiary period.
