Polabské trails for wine and knowledge

Due to the location of the Litoměřice and Mělník wine sub-region, the Polabská Trail was created to connect the possibilities of tourism attractions.

Polabské trails for wine and knowledge connects two wine sub-regions of Bohemia

It is a link between the Litoměřice wine sub-region and the Mělník wine sub-region and their most important tourist destinations and wine-growing localities. The route starts in Roudnice nad Labem and continues through Kyškovice, Hoštka, Štětí and Liběchov to Mělník. There are several information boards along the route, which provide visitors with information about attractive tourist destinations near the route. While travelling along this trail, it is possible to visit several wineries and taste wines from both wine sub-regions of Bohemia.

Štětí - waterfront

A town on the right bank of the Elbe River in the southern part of the Litoměřice district with written documents from 1314.

The town includes nine local districts - Brocno, Chcebuz, Radouň, Počeplice, Stračí, Čakovice, Hněvice, Veselí and Újezd.

Štětí is the gateway to the Kokořínsko - Macha Region and is often a destination for hikers and cyclists due to its diverse landscape. The historical landmark is the Church of St. Simon and Jude. The only known sculpture of the two first Czechoslovak presidents, T. G. Masaryk and E. Beneš, is another interesting feature of the town. Outside the town we can find the Brocno village conservation area, the reconstructed Jewish cemetery in Radouň or the village of Chcebuz, where the historical film Lidice was shot in 2010. The nearby rowing canal in the village of Račice is also interesting for tourists.

The town has a predominantly industrial character. An important part of it is a paper mill, at one time the largest in Central Europe.
