Follow the monuments of Roundice nad Labem
You can follow the monuments of Roudnice along a special roundtrip with a number of stops at selected monuments. The starting point is a signpost at the Roudnice castle.

Jan Hus Monument
In 1925, at the initiative of teacher Antonín Herynek, the "Association for the Construction of Historical Monuments" was founded in Roudnice.
His goal was to build several monuments of prominent personalities, such as J. A. Komenský or Jan Hus. However, only one statue was unveiled during the association's activities, in 1928 a statue of Jan Hus.
Its artistic elaboration was assigned to the pupil of Stanislav Sucharda, the academic sculptor Rudolf Břez. The sculpture itself is cast from bronze and built on a prismatic granite base, the eastern side of which is fitted with a bronze relief depicting a Hussite priest.
